You can take this gun anywhere and not worry about a fragile finish, because it's made from a durable polymer. It's ambidextrous, too, with a raised cheekpiece on both sides of the Monte Carlo stock! This CO2 rifle uses an 88-gram AirSource cartridge, giving you up to 200 shots before you have to change cartridges. The fiber-optic sights will help you acquire your target, but feel free to mount a scope on the 11mm dovetail rail. (Umarex also makes a dovetail-to-Weaver mount; check the Accessories link below.) Received my rifle last week. First, fit and finish are absolutely top-drawer in all respects. The black, zytel stock and overall handling reminds me of my Browning BAR. The bolt operates smoothly, yet feels snug. Trigger has 2-stage take-up and lets off crisply, and is also externally adjustable. Sights are well done...fiber optic inserts front and rear to gather light and create easy to see glowing dots--red front, green rear. It will accept any standard .22 scope rings on it's full-length groove METAL receiver, and the sights can be quickly removed with a simple screwdriver.
The CO2 cylinder screws in easily and seats positively, though there isn't any audible "hiss"...once seated per manual, you pretty much have to shoot it to "know" it's working.
The magazine is absolutely perfect, and so far flawless in operation. I've tested several different brands of .22 pellet and all but the Skenco ultralight sabot pellets fit within the mag's depth, though shaving about 1mm off the Skencos to turn them into tiny "flat points" allows them to fit and so far, all pellets have fed reliably under field conditions. Accuracty is amazing--simply amazing. I mounted my 6x26 50mm AO target scope--with the dials set to "0" and Crow Magnum pellets shoot to POA at 10 yards without adjustment.
As one might expect, European made pellet rifles tend to be built more like "real" guns, and function well...and that is true with this one. It is a full-size rifle, and handles and shoulders well.
Anyone who wants a superior .22 CO2 rifle that makes good power and accuracty out of the box, works as it should and looks worth the money should consider the 850 Airmagnum.
