Shoot pellets or shot! Load special .22 cal. shotshells loaded with No. 9 shot, or put .22 cal. pellets into a chamber adapter (metal insert). The Viper Express is a spring-piston breakbarrel and is one of the most versatile airguns made by Gamo. Built on the proven reliability of the Gamo 1000 powerplant, you'll get 666 fps when shooting pellets and 562 fps with shotshells from the choked smoothbore barrel. The power of the shot is truly awesome, delivering 1/4 penetration into 200-lb. compressed paperboard.The all-weather synthetic stock has soft rubber checkering on the grip and the forearm. The Monte Carlo buttstock has a raised cheekpiece on both sides, making this suitable for lefthanded and righthanded airgunners. The butt is capped with a soft, recoil-absorbing, ventilated rubber pad. The bull barrel has a full vent rib and is topped off with a bead front sight. Customize the let-off with the two-stage adjustable trigger. When you cock the rifle, an anti-beartrap mechanism automatically engages to protect your fingers. Lots of fun! August 31, 2008
Bought this a few days ago, more powerful than i thought. From about 8 yards the shot passes completely thru an aluminum can (both sides). Mainly it's been a lot of fun. the penetration is not as good if the shot hits the can with a glancing blow. will go thru one side of a bleach jug at about the same distance. i've experimented with some reloading and have had pretty good results with 7 1/2 shot. even though reloading is not recommended i'm stuck with this chore until my ammo order arrives. Great for plinking in the back yard but i recommend a soft backstop, i get some richochets with plywood or planks...but some shot does penetrate into the wood about the depth of the shot size. enjoy.

Great for the shooter who likes the broad side of a barn and couldn't hit it anyway. Nice spread and stopping power at close range. Gammo quality.
