Editorial Reviews:

Amazon.com Product Description
A 1:1 scale replica of a .44 Magnum pistol, this Desert Eagle airsoft pistol is remarkably authentic. The pistol fires round pellets known as BBs, which are propelled out of the gun by compressed air. The advantage of the airsoft pistol, however, is that players can safely train, simulate, or play with the gun without fearing serious injury. The Desert Eagle looks, feels, weighs, and functions just like a real firearm, but is built for casual recreation rather than weaponized use. In fact, the only way you can typically tell a real-steel firearm from an airsoft pistol is the blazing orange tip and the BBs that fire when you pull the trigger. The .44 Magnum offers such features a slide-locking back, a functional thumb safety, and plastic textured grips with markings.

Specifications:

  • Velocity: Approximately 270 fps with 0.12-gram BBs
  • Magazine: 28 rounds
  • Fixed front and rear sights
  • Slide locks open on empty magazine
  • Fixed hop-up
  • Plastic frame and slide
  • Full IMI Desert Eagle trademarks
  • Orange-tipped outer barrel
  • Weighs 1 pound

4 out of 5 stars Deagle Time   March 14, 2010
M. Flanagan (Austin, TX)
This gun is pretty cool. I love the way it looks, and the size in my hand is perfect. As far as appearances go, this gun takes the cake. As far as operating goes...that's another story.

The gun is fairly accurate. Maybe I just can't get used to the sights, but I'm having trouble nailing targets more than 20 feet away. Its accurate enough though.

This gun is, for lack of a better word, weak. This is one of the least painful airsoft guns I own, which is a shame given how big it is and how I excited I was to purchase it. Don't get me wrong, it still stings, but I doesn't punture cardboard and soda pop cans like I've seen other guns do.

Also, one other gripe is the magazine doesn't all out when the release is pressed. You must manually remove the magazine whilst pressing the button. This is a minor complaint, but it was something I wasn't expecting (this is the only gun I've ever seen where the magazine didn't fall out with gravity).

All in all, I'm happy with my purchase. The feeling of the Desert Eagle in my hand is enough to override its minor performance flaws. Maybe I'm just a bad marksman.

Do yourself a favor - if you're looking for a decent starter spring powered pistol, you can't go wrong here. If you're looking for a competition grade sidearm, this may not be your cup of tea. I'm just here for fun, and this "Deagle" provides plenty of that. Also, the silver version is just plain sexy

4 out of 5 stars Very Satisfying Spring Pistol   March 6, 2010

This gun is extremely pleasing aesthetically, it's a perfect 1:1 replica of my favorite gun. Just holding the gun gives me a happy feeling. It's not too heavy and not too light. Shooting the gun is simple and easy to do. Very accurate especially with a laser. it has good distance and speed. One problem i experienced though is the occasional blank fire. The clip is decent I'm going to buy a speed loader though they're only like 50 cents. Overall a great gun for a good price.

3 out of 5 stars fun, but quirky   February 4, 2010
Tsung Hung Shen (Cali, CA)
its my first airsoft gun and it feels somewhat cheap in the first impression. its plastic and moderately light. the box says it shoots at 175 fps, and i cant shoot through the cardboard that it came with. it feels pretty accurate altho my range was short being in my room. the clip seems to be its biggest flaw! i can put maximum of 27 bbs, but the spring in the clip will cause it to load multiple bbs with full clip. if you remove the clip with a full clip, bbs will also jump out. IDEALLY, load 22 bbs so that non of the problem will occur. even with that in mind, it still double loads 2-3 times throughout the round. despite all that, its still fun to shoot things with. just need to figure out the guns quirks and anticipate some errors.

4 out of 5 stars Sweet looks, decent performance.   January 18, 2010

First of all, let me just say that this gun looks awesome. Like really awesome. Like "Holy crap, it's a fu**ing Desert Eagle" awesome. Even though it is made of plastic, it is very durable, and works great. It does have its downsides, however. The magizine is a bit tricky to remove at first, but once you get used to it, it becomes simple. The loading system is painfully slow, requiring you to load only 1 BB at a time into a small hole at the top. And lastly, it is quite inacurate and just a bit slow at 280 FPS. However, these downsides are outweighed by the positives. It is suprisingly heavy for a plastic spring pistol, and is very easy to cock. It even comes with a safety feature, which is unusual for a spring pistol. Overall, if you want a fake gun prop, you can't go better than this. If you want it for a firefight, it will work, but not great. I do recomend this heavily.
