 Drill one more mounting hole! June 25, 2010

This a great built trap for backyard target shooting. It is well made with thick metal. The metal dings quite a bit with pellets at 25 yard but that's what pellet trap is supposed to do! Couple of things you want to keep in mind with this pellet trap.
1. It is small! only 5.5" x 5.5". I knew it when I bought it so not a big deal in my book.
2. It only has one mounting hole. Make sure you drill one more mounting hole with Dremel in order to get a solidly mounted trap. Look at the pictures I posted.
By the way, 5.5" targets means you can make your own targets on a letter size cardboard stock using a copier. You will be able to get two targets per sheet. I just use two targets in the copier next to each other and copy away more as I need them!!

This is a good trap made with solid materials. Comes in a surprisingly small and heavy box. It was simple to put together. Target is about 5.5"x5.5".
Some pellets fall out but I haven't had any ricochets other than hitting the edge of it. Has only one keyhole slot for mounting, would be nice if it had two to hold it more stable. PELLETS ONLY, no BBs.
Gamo Paper Targets (100 pack) are the ones you want for this.

as some other reviews suggested, check the dimensions. this target is smaller than the photos might suggest.
the build quality is great, very heavy and nice.
the item also comes with a good quantity of paper targets. being that it's from Gamo, a major brand, i am confident that replacement targets will remain available, which is great!
i would definitely recommend this product.

I was pretty shocked to see how small it was. I guess I didn't realize that the target was only 5.5in x 5.5in. But this thing is built tough! I used it to sight in the scope on my Crossman 800 fps pellet rifle and every shot at 25 yards was contained, although some fragments were in the cone behind the target. The targets fit perfectly and are stiff enough to remain flat. The included 100-pack was very generous. This is a great item to own for backyard shooting. I rated it down one star because I believe that it should have been bigger (8x8), and the description should have been clear that it was less than 6x6.

This is a very well designed and solidly built pellet trap. At 10 meters, it stops and collects the pellets from air pistols without scratches.
Pellets hitting the edge will bounce back, of course, but I don't think that is the fault of the product.
A pack of Gamo Paper Targets (100 pack) that comes with this trap fits well and can withstand 20-30 shots. Overall, the whole thing is great for air pistol target practice.
