5 out of 5 stars Fantastic Value   August 5, 2008

This is a absolutly great gun. You can't do better for your money. It really does shoot around 400fps with .12g bb's, however I would recommend using .2g, or .25g bb's for the best accuracy. This gun looks just like an M14, and is suprisingly heavy. It points nicely. It shoots hard enough to penetrate soda cans, and I am afraid to shoot it at people. It really is intended to be used as a sniper, and works well for that. The sights came very well aligned, however it comes with a 3-sided RIS rail that you can mount a scope on. HOWEVER, using the RIS rail blocks the sights that come on the gun, therefore if you aren't going to mount anything, don't put it on. The magazine is a good size, at 37 rounds, you may want to pick up a spare clip, but if you're going to snipe you're probably good. I am extremely satisfied with this purchase and eaisly would have paid twice what this costs for it. 5 stars.

A perspective buyer of this gun would find it very useful to understand a couple of hidden details about this m14 airsoft rifle.

First of all, the Hop-up system is enourmously powerful. Unless you have .25g (or heavier) BB's, you can expect to be laying down the law a couple of stories above your target. Even with adjusting the Hop-up as low as possible, you will get a bit of kick-up with .25g BB's.

Next, the instructions that arrive with the m14 give directions for cleaning the gun that indicate parts like special oil, ramrod and a cleaning cloth that don't arrive with the gun. The gun does not come with a shoulder strap. Also, here is no address, phone number, or web address for you to contact the manufacturer since it is made in China.

In conclusion, I find this gun to be decent quality. I have had difficulty finding the right weight of BB to use, and have consequently encountered a reasonable amount of inconsistency with rounds fired from any distance over 20 ft. A buyer should be prepared to spend a couple of hours calibrating before taking it off to the battlefield.

Remember: Always use Bio-Degradable ammunition.

4 out of 5 stars Good buy ... but not perfect   July 16, 2008

This rifle was the first airsoft I've ever owned and I must say that I'm pretty happy with it. For the price, around $60, you can't really complain. For the price it has good power and accuracy, comes with a speed loader which is vital, is of a good size and has some weight to it. The one huge drawback that I've been having with th erifle is that after cocking it a putting a bb in the chamber, if you tilt the barrel lower than the buttstock even the slightest amount, the bb rolls out of the barrel. Trust me, this can be a big pain in the butt. Some other minor drawbacks are that the shoulder strap attachments seem very flimsy, you can't see through the crosshairs with the rail mounted on top and the rear windage adjustment doesn't actually move left or right. Again, yes, it's a flawed rifle, but for the price you can't really complain. Overall, pretty good rifle.

This rifle is solid and has really good accuracy, and with a little adjusting of the hop-up, the shot won't tail off unless there is wind.

One con is that the gun is a bit heavy and is rather hard to cock but after a while u get use 2 it.

Other than the heaviness and the fact that the gun is a little hard to cock, the gun is awesome so far.

P.S. this isn't Lihong thats my mom, I'm a 15 yr old teen

You will not find a better airsoft gun than this. For all of the people who want a Tokyo Marui, this gun is their competition. For the price of this gun, it shoots 400 fps with 0.12g bbs and 300 fps with .2g bbs, why buy a Tokyo Marui for 4x the price? You may think that a slower fps is worse, however it feels the same when you shoot a lightweight pellet at 400fps and when you shoot a .2g at 300fps, because the impact of the heavier pellet is so much greater and even feels like 400 fps because of the heavy impact. I shot my friend today in a battle, and believe me, he was saying ouch for the next 45 minutes. The guns power is especially well when turning the hop up all of the way up. This causes a circular motion of the pellet when it's flying in the air and acts like a drill would if it were digging into you. This makes it seem a lot more powerful and hurtful. Buy a sling. This is a big gun and is hard to carry around without support. The other customers who have purchased this mentioned that it is hard to cauk. Not so. Maybe, if the gun wasn't supported against anything. Just put it against your stomach and pull it back. As long as the back of the gun has support on something, it's fairly easy to cauk. Even my 10 year old son could do it. Tip comes orange, (complying with the federal law) and a 37 round magazine. It is impossible to load more than 3 bbs without a speed loader. Make sure that you have one. The sight works awesome. There's a secret to getting pinpoint accuracy. You just have to play with the sight for a while and get used to it. My friend and I lined up paintballs on a deck and you can easily hit them from 80+ feet even though the box says 50 feet. I gave this gun 5 stars because there are no problems with it and it's accurate and powerful beyond belief. Dont get a Tokyo Marui. I looked for an airsoft gun for about a month all over the web. This seemed to be the best one, so I bought it. You cannot have a spring gun that shoots more than 450 fps. Its kind of impossible. If anyone knows where to find one, let me know so I could go and look at it and tell me where to find it please. For the low price, this airsoft gun is awesome quality and extremely good power. DEFINATELY A GREAT BUY!!!
